Global Mission Construction Project

Size of Team Needed: 4 to 12 members

"Belize" A Land of The Fatherless: This project is for people looking for an affordable global mission construction project. The purpose is to build a student dorm building in Belize Central America. Belize is a place where men do not know how to be fathers. Being part of Great Britain’s common wealth of nations, slaves were brought into the land to cut lumber. In the 1800’s the Spanish controlled the Philippines and most of Central and South America and the French controlled southern Asia. Belize was one of the few places where the British could get beautiful hard woods for its castles and government buildings. So, thousands of slaves were brought and immediately separated from their family units. This separation went on one generation to the next. Because of this, after receiving their freedom, there was little knowledge of a family unit. Before Belize (British Honduras received its independence, when WWI and WWII came, many of the fathers went off to war. Many stayed in Europe never to come home. Since WWII, because Belize is so close to the US, many fathers left to go and find work. Knowing the English language made it very easy to find work and blend in. Thousands of Men left to find work and send funds back to their families, but unfortunately found relationships with women in the states and never came back. This has happened over and over again, leaving a fatherless society.

Weekend Workshops That Will Give Knowledge: As a missionary on the ground you get a current perspective on what the need is today in missions. Our leaderships believe the greatest need in Belize is a place where weekend workshops could be conducted. Where Biblical precepts could be applied to social needs. For Example: Marriage Seminars - Men Conferences - Women Workshops  - Conferences for Singles – Worship Conferences - Church Growth Workshops - Workshops on Effective Evangelism - Youth Rally Weekends - Children VBS camps -Recovery Workshops - College Ministries Workshops – Extended Stay “Mission Training” People from USA. It is our goal to make the Belize campus a center to affect the whole nation. With the country being the size of New Hampshire, we believe this is entirely possible. By partnering with churches such as yours, we can unite our visions to impact an entire nation. The vision is to remodel the large dorm building into a large conference room. To do this we need to place dorm buildings on the property. By conducting this project in this matter, contractors have said it is the most affordable way.

Re-Thinking Missions: We see it time after time; a U.S. church comes and builds another church. The church community gets reshuffled and there’s another church running 15 people in Belize. (Re-thinking Missions) We believe in many countries in the western hemisphere the last thing needed is another church. (Let’s Make Existing Churches Effective) The greatest need for Belize is making the existing churches effective. Our conferences are already doing it but with your help, we can bring it to a new level by building dorm building for people to lodge while attending a conference.

(Affordable) A partnering church has committed to the first dorm building. Would you prayerfully consider helping DCI with cost of the second dorm building and then bring a team and finish the interior? The cost of a 18’ x 20’ dorm building from the Mennonites who would deliver it unfinished, which would be used for mentoring men, families and church leaders is $8,000.  - The cost for finishing this dorm with electrical/plumbing/sewage would be $6,000. Please contact our office today for more information on this global missions project. Total Cost of Project $12,000

Sincerely,
